GRANT AID
For members who have Group responsibilities, they may
have been hampered by the amount of money that goes through the
accounts, when applying for grants.
The following explains why monies collected to be passed
on to District, Counties & HQ in the way of Membership Subscriptions
should NOT be included as part of the annual income
------------------------------------
If Groups are correctly using HQ Model Accounts.
see Factsheets LT700002 or LT700004 depending on your
group's needs They state that:-
"Membership Subscriptions, less :
Membership Subscriptions paid on (ie to National, county
or district)
Net Membership subscriptions retained"
In language understandable to non-accountants, this means
that Group income (For grants applications) is the net figure when
subscriptions have been paid out each year - ie the Group are not
collecting them for themselves, but on behalf of others.
